Nita Naomi David Moore, of Lake Charles, passed away on, Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Johnson's Funeral Home with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. She was born February 20, 1917 in Opelousas Louisiana; attended Opelousas High School, where she was head-cheerleader for four years. Mickey was a resident of Lake Charles for over 65 years, and a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church for 50 years. She came to Lake Charles in 1938, where she worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Vanbrook; worked at Calcasieu Marine National Bank for 20 years. She served as president of the Calcasieu Council of Garden Clubs was a member and president of the Diggers and Weeders Garden Club; member of the crew of the Contraband Le Bon Temp Dance Club; Wednesday coffee group; Lake Charles Street Watch Chairman; member of the American Legion Auxiliary, 16 years; member of American Business Women's Association; president of the Cleanest City Organization; and Krew of Krews for Mardi Gras. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Grady Moore; her daughter, Paula; and her eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by one daughter, Nita M. Caruso (Hank) of Plano, Texas; sister, Mrs. Eva Austin of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Tracy Caruso Gohlke (Owen) of Lakeville, Minnesota, and Paul Morse-Caruso (Wendy) of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, and four great-grand sons, Evan and Brodie Gohlke, Nate and Ian Morse-Caruso. Mickey leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews of the David families in Lake Charles, Opelousas, Lafayette, and surrounding cities of Louisiana and various states throughout the United States.
