Nobie Parton

Nobie A. Cobb Parton, 90, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away at 4:10 AM on Thursday, July 22, 2021.

Mrs. Parton was born May 21, 1931 in Oxford, AL, raised in Lincoln, AL and moved to Lake Charles in 1961, where she raised her family.  She had a great love for taking care of her family, and enjoyed arts and crafts, cooking, flower gardening, and quilting.

Mrs. Parton is survived by her children, Pat Nelson and husband Dan of Daphne, AL, Paula Zimmerman and husband Ken of Pottsboro, TX, Sue Musgrove of Lake Charles, LA and Jimmy Parton and wife Mary of Hohenwald, TN; nine grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-nine years, James Leldon Parton; parents, Shelton and Lela Cobb; son, Jerry Wayne Parton; and granddaughter, Linda Parton Lewis.

Her funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 26, 2021 at University Baptist Church, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park.  Visitation will be at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
