At 6:30 a.m. on June 22, 2015, a sweet and long-awaited reunion took place in heaven. Nola Josephine LeBato Johnson was welcomed into eternity by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And with her entry, we can imagine she was also soon greeted by her husband of 52 years, "Butch." While losing her leaves gaping holes in the lives and hearts of so many, there is no greater comfort than in knowing she is healed completely, renewed in the likeness of Him; and with joy immeasurable, now jitterbugging in the streets of heaven and worshipping her Creator. Nola Jo was born on June 13, 1941 in Lake Charles to Charlie and Jenny LeBato. She graduated from Marion High School, where she also met the love of her life, Charles F. "Butch" Johnson. In addition to raising her son, Chuck, she also worked at McElveen Insurance agency for more than 20 years, where she developed many dear and life-long friendships. If you asked her what brought her joy, it would without hesitation be her grandchildren - she was intimately involved in their lives, a steady and ever-supporting presence. She attended First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff; was an expert in all things skin-care; and at any point in time, could give you the latest Hollywood gossip. Young at heart, she was loved so dearly, because she loved so deeply. She is survived by her son, Charles Franklin Johnson II (Chuck) of Moss Bluff and wife, Lorraine; grandchildren, Samantha and Kristin Johnson; step-grandchildren, Kristina and Ashley Latty; step-great-grandchild, Ryker Franks; sister, Betty LeBato Guidry and husband, Frank; and brother, Anthony Charles LeBato, all of Lake Charles. She is predeceased by her parents, Charlie and Jenny LeBato. We will celebrate Nola's life at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Bennett officiating. Interment to follow in Creel Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 4-9PM. "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8: 38-39
