Nolia Maddox

Nolia Maddox, 80, passed away at her residence on February 6, 2018.

She was born on April 9, 1937 to Edward and Javilie Roy Gauthier in Hessmer, LA.

She will be remembered for her love of cooking, spending time with her grandchildren and family and fishing. She also loved her church family at Friendship Baptist Church where she was a devoted member.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Carmen Maddox Manuel (David) and Charles Maddox (Lulu Manuel Maddox); grandchildren, Brandy, Brian, Michael, LeeAnn, Jennifer Charlie; and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Strawder (Buzz) Maddox; and three sisters.

Her funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home.  The Rev. Brian Manuel will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Highland Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 PM until 9 PM and will resume at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 AM until the start of the service.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her niece and caregiver, Kathy Ducote, and the nurses and staff of Heart of Hospice for their compassion and care.
