Norma June Gesner

Norma June Gesner, 75, of Lake Charles passed away at 3:55 PM on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Gesner was born on January 7, 1943 in Englewood, CO. She was fortunate to travel with her family with the military to every state in the US excluding Alaska. She moved to Lake Charles in 2010 to be with her children.

She enjoyed traveling, coloring, and sewing. Mrs. Gesner will be remembered for her love of life and her family. She was the life of the party and was always socializing, especially with her family at the “Bad Apple.”

Those left to cherish her memory are children, Michael Gesner of Longmont, CO, Christopher Gesner of Lake Charles, Amy Vick (Scott) of Moss Bluff, and Jennifer Dorman (Ryan) of Lake Charles; sisters, Jeannie Shockley (Larry) of Broomfeild, CO and Frances Oliver of Lakewood, CO; twenty grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Harley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gesner; her mother, Hazel Miller Beeler; and a granddaughter, Priscilla Walker.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. Please contact Jennifer or Amy for location details. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
