Norma Wester Rose

Norma Wester Rose, 85, of Lake Charles died Saturday, December 04, 2010 in the comfort of her daughter's home.


Mrs. Rose was born and lived most of her life in Baton Rouge, LA. She and her husband returned to his childhood home town, Watson, LA, where they lived their retirement years. She worked as a Key Punch Operator for Ethyl Corp during her younger years and worked many years as a Secretary for the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court Mortgage Office, from which she retired.


Mrs. Rose was an admirable woman of her generation, a Christian woman of faith, with an overwhelming love for her family and a devotion to serving the Lord. She was a member of Oak Park United Methodist Church and Wesley United Methodist Church where she was a member of both church choirs.


She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Catherine R. Comish and husband Charles Ray of Lake Charles and Elizabeth R. Doran and husband Thomas E. of King George, VA; one son, Retired Air Force Major, Stephen James Rose and wife Sondra C. of Oklahoma City, OK; five grandchildren, Jessica Doran Taft and husband Joshua, Samuel Patrick Doran and wife Rebekah Jean and William Stuart Doran, all of VA and Christopher Michael Rose and Kimberly Anne Rose, both of OK; two great- grandchildren, Zachary Thomas Taft and John Patrick Taft and one sister, Rosalie Grado and husband Salvador of Groves, TX.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Preston Rose and one brother, Sidney Marion Peterson.


Funeral services will be at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, December 07, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverends Roger Templeton and Peggy Foreman will officiate. Visitation Tuesday will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the funeral home. Graveside services Wednesday will be at 1:00 PM in Live Oak United Methodist Church Cemetery in Watson, LA. Reverend Tom Bergeron will officiate.
