Norman "Gene" Yokes

Norman Gene Yokes, 67, of Lake Charles passed away at 1:36 AM Saturday, March 29, 2014. Mr. Yokes was born, and lived his younger years in Meadville, PA and lived most of his adult life in Lake Charles. He served the US Army. He was an avid reader. During his younger years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and in his later years, listening to country music and hanging out with friends. Mr. Yokes will be most remembered as a man who "did it his way". He leaves two children, Brandi Hartman of CA and Gene Harvey of PA; two grandsons, one sister, Carol Ann Schmal and husband Robert A. of Moss Bluff and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Estella Yokes and two brothers, Wallace Walter Yokes, Jr. and Gerald Lee Yokes. Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM Thursday, April 03, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Steve Shirley will officiate. Gathering of friends will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM in the funeral home.
