Norman Keith Coleman

Norman Keith Coleman, 57, died on Saturday, May 21, 2011.


Keith was born August 9, 1953 in DeQuincy, LA and was raised in Sulphur, LA. He grew up in Olivet Baptist Church and was a 1971 graduate of Sulphur High School. He attended McNeese State University and graduated in 1976 from Northeast State University in Monroe with his Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. Keith worked at St. Patrick Hospital for over thirty years in the Satellite Pharmacy in the Surgery Department. He was an active member of the music ministry for Maplewood Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Sulphur and also, First Baptist Church of Lake Charles. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and will always be remembered as a talented guitarist and musician. He enjoyed making wood carvings, pumpkin portraits, traveling, snow skiing, computers, and photography. Keith will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, son and brother.


Keith is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Sharon C. Coleman of Lake Charles; daughter, Malora Beth Coleman of Lake Charles; mother, Betty Coleman; sister, Sherry Coleman, both of Sulphur; mother-in-law, Edna R. Crotwell of Monroe, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.


He was preceded in death by his father, Norman T. Coleman.


His funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Roger Templeton will officiate. Burial will follow in Hyatt Cemetery in Fields, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
