Norman Lee Hornsby, 83, of Lake Charles died at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in a local care facility with his loving family at his side.
Mr. Hornsby was born on August, 17, 1928 in Sweet Lake, Louisiana. He lived most of his life in Lake Charles. Norman was a 1945 graduate of Lake Charles High School. Mr. Hornsby worked for Local 861 as an Electrician for 46 years. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Norman was an all around handy man and loved to help his family and his neighbors.
Norman is survived by his wife of 62 years Mrs. Emma Ray Hornsby of Lake Charles, LA, one daughter Karen Johnson and her husband Von of Houston, TX, three sons; Terry Hornsby and his wife Lucille of Lake Charles, LA, Larry Hornsby and wife Lynda of Ragley, LA and Randy Hornsby and wife Lisa of Lake Charles, LA, nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one sister Ruby Fuselier, one half brother Gerald Glenn Hornsby and his parents Ophey and Leona Hornsby.
His funeral will be will be held on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Von Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Thursday at 4 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue at 8:00 AM on Friday until the time of services.
