Norman Mansel Langley, 83, of Lake Charles died at 6:22 PM on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in his residence. Mr. Langley was born on October 11, 1930 in Kinder, LA and moved to Lake Charles in 1959 where he lived all of his life. Following graduation from Kinder High School, he joined the U.S. Navy. After being honorably discharge from the military, he began his career with Sweetlake Land and Oil where he retired as a plant manager. Mr. Langley was a member of the American Legion and also belonged to the McNeese Cowboy Club. He enjoyed most outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, camping, and also riding horses and watching horse races. Mr. Langley will be remembered as being a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of many years, Mary Daigle Langley; a daughter, Belinda Annette Louviere of Lake Charles; two sons, Kemble Derouen of Leesville, LA and Joseph Guy Derouen of Bell City, LA; a sister, Katherine Nixon of Indian Village; seven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchildren; twenty-nine nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorena and Mansel Langley and a daughter, Patricia Gail Hungerford. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 14, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Terry Bushnell and Rev. Ken Bushnell will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oaks Cemetery in Kinder. Visitation will begin on Friday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
