Norman Peter Doucet, Sr., 82, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 6:09 AM on Friday, August 18, 2017 in his residence.
Mr. Doucet was born November 19, 1934 in Lake Charles, LA, where he lived most of his life. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired as the superintendent at Triangle and had previously worked at Sline Industrial. Earlier in life, he enjoyed camping and farming and he loved to listen to French music. Mr. Doucet was a member of the VFW Post #2130.
Mr. Doucet is survived by his children, Janice Perkins and husband Terry of Pitkin, LA, Cynthia Jo Nugent of Lake Charles, Norman P. Doucet, Jr. of Lake Charles, and R. J. Doucet and wife Lynn of Moss Bluff; sister, Viola Thibodeaux; brother, J. C. Doucet, both of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Amy Perkins, Jessie Perkins, Amanda McDaniel and husband Justin, Blake Nugent, Mathew Nugent, and Justin Doucet; and great-grandchildren, Abby Boudoin and husband Joshua and Elijah Leger.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Blanche Clark Doucet; daughter, Donis Doucet; parents, Poleg and Ella Doucet; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Dwayne Daigle will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and continue on Monday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
