Norris Joseph Duhon, 88, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Duhon was born in Kaplan on December 11, 1928 to Lastie Duhon and Olympe Duplantis Duhon. In his youth, he worked in the rice and cotton fields of southwest Louisiana. At the age of seventeen, he married the love of his life, Bernice Touchet. After moving to Lake Charles, he began a career as a painter with Port City Construction where he worked for many years.
He was a loving husband and father and will be remembered for the love he showed to his family, the quality time he spent with his children, his enjoyment of cigars on his front porch, his passion for his farm in Bell City, the dominos and cards he loved to play, and the hats he liked wearing.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Bernice Touchet Duhon; his daughter, Sue McMillin (Harvey) of Lake Charles; son, Kenneth Duhon (Sharon) of Round Rock, TX; and his grandchildren Chance, Chase, Corey, Cody, and Kristi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and four brothers.
Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
