Noush Joseph Guidry

Noush Joseph Guidry, 71, of DeRidder, LA, died on February 29, 2016, surrounded by his loving wife, Eva, and his children in his home.
 
He was born September 5, 1944 in Kaplan, LA. Noush lived his entire life in southwest Louisiana, including Ragley, Big Lake, Lake Charles, and eventually moving to the DeRidder area. He was a graduate of Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff. Noush loved his class reunions and continued his friendship with numerous classmates. He was a master mechanic working at several shops throughout the years even owning his own shop at one time in Grand Lake and retiring in 2000. In his lifetime he built several homes doing exceptional wood work and loved reading western books, especially Louis L’ Armour. Noush loved sitting on his front porch watching squirrels, rabbits and birds. He also loved visiting and talking with family, friends, and his dogs.
 
Noush is survived by his wife of 32 years, Eva Benoit Guidry; children, Nickie Duhon (Dane) of DeRidder, LA, Sherry Ezell (Dwayne), Tammy McFarlain, James Phillips (Janet), Dena Henry (Robert) all of Lake Charles, LA, Nancy Johnson (Louis), of Dayton, TX, Renee Dupre (Glen) of Grand Lake, LA; 15 grand children; 16 great grandchildren; Uncle, George Guidry and Aunt Jean; Uncle Sonny Meaux and Aunt Loretta; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his beloved dogs, Sweetie and P’mon.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents, Onnatal and Virgie (Meaux) Guidry; brother, Dean Guidry; sisters, Dorothy Willman, Janice Kendall, and Elizabeth Maddox; as well as his grandson, Jonathan O’Brien.
 
Noush’s funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Topsy Baptist Church at 2 PM. Reverend Lloyd Carroll will officiate. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 from 4 PM until 8 PM. It will resume Wednesday morning from 10AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at Benoit Family Cemetery in Lake Charles, LA under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family for medical and funeral expenses.
