Ocie Mcguire, Jr.

Ocie McGuire, Jr., 87 of Sulphur, passed away on February 3, 2012 in a local hospital surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Spicer officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery North in Sulphur. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 5, 2012 from 12-5 p.m. at Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Monday at 8 a.m. until time of service. Ocie was a native of Rochester, TX and a longtime resident of Sulphur. After graduating from Rochester High School, he served his country in the U S Army during WWII. He moved to Monahans, TX and began working in the oil industry. Later he came to Sulphur and worked for Cities Service until retiring in 1982. He was a member of Maplewood Church of Christ, where he had previously served as an Elder for the church. Ocie is survived by his daughter, Gwen Thompson of Sulphur; son, Ocie Preston Bud McGuire and wife, Tami of Sulphur; brother, Douglas McGuire of Alpine, TX; four grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, of 66 years, Odelia McGuire; and his two brothers, Bill and John McGuire.
