Odessa Hooper

Odessa Beebe Hooper, 86, passed away on September 27, 2018 at a care facility in Jena, LA.

Mrs. Hooper was born on October 29, 1931 in Sharp, LA. She retired as an operator for South Central Bell Telephone Company. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. In Moss Bluff she was a member of the Gateway Church of God. In her free time, she enjoyed collecting antiques, soap operas, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two grandsons, Samuel McDaniel and wife Kristina, and Louis McDaniel; four great grandchildren, Alyssa, Arion, Autumn, and Arie McDaniel; daughter-in-law, Tery Owens and husband Tony; step daughter, Johanna Kay and her son, Ricky Kicklighter Jr. and wife Taylor; five step great grandchildren, Hayden, Rylen, Darcy, and Jaxson Kicklighter; and daughter, Jennifer Murray; and her two children, Jaxon and Jayla.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel McDaniel; second husband, Curtis Hooper; parents, Herbert and Rosalee Beebe; and children, Dennis McDaniel; and Diane McDaniel.

A memorial service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11AM. Pastor Richard Riles will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday morning from 9AM until the start of the service.
