Odile Menard

Odile Menard, 90, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014 in a local care Facility. Odile was born February 12, 1923 in St. Martinville, LA to Henry and Julie Frederick. She lived most of her adult life in Lake Charles working as a cashier early in life and as a cafeteria worker at St. Margaret Catholic School for 25 years. She was a long time member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. She is survived by one daughter, Julie Darbonne of Sugarland, TX; one son, Raymond A. Menard and wife Betty of Lake Charles, LA; one sister, Ethel Frederick of St. Martinville , LA; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Menard; two brothers, Otto and Albin Frederick, and two sisters, Betty Mathews and Emma Rita David. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 13, 2014 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Scripture Service and a Rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume Monday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM. Burial will be at Prien Memorial Park. Fr. Bill Miller will officiate services. The family would like to thank the staff of Resthaven Nursing Center and Brighton Bridge Hospice for their Compassionate care of their mother. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Margaret Catholic Church or School.
