Oren Joseph Harrington, Jr.

On May 14, 2022, Oren Joseph Harrington, Jr., 74, passed away at his residence in Ragley, Louisiana.  

Oren was born on July 3, 1947, in Algiers, Louisiana to Oren Joseph Harrington, Sr. and Annie Mae Menard Buteaud.  In 1965, he graduated from Henry High School where he played the trombone in the school band and competed on the basketball team. While attending a dance at the Abbeville Recreational Center, Oren met the love of his life, Belinda, whom he would marry in 1967. Oren and Belinda had four children and raised their family in Bayou Vista and Berwick, LA, where Oren began his thirty-year career in the oil and gas industry. After retirement, Oren and Belinda moved to Ragley, LA to enjoy country-living, and be closer to their eleven grandchildren. Oren enjoyed cultivating an abundant vegetable garden with Belinda, taking care of their animals, and watching LSU sports and horse racing.    

He is survived by his loving and caring wife of 54 years, Belinda Harrington; children, Joseph Lane Harrington, Maury Harrington (Leslie), Christopher Kyle Harrington (Mary), and Seth Harrington (Kassi); grandchildren, Brittany (Chance), Kade, Bryce, Haileigh, Hayden, Andrew, Alli, Tyler, Kate, Ava, and Zach; great-grandchild, Clarke; and sister, Antonia Busby. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Raymond Harrington.

 A memorial service will be held in the Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff chapel on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home following the memorial service until 2 p.m.
