Ouida Jeanine Reid

Ouida "Jeanine" Reid, 68, of Lake Charles died at 12:10 PM Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Christus St. Patrick Hospital.

Mrs. Reid was a lifelong resident of the Lake Charles area. She was a 1961 graduate of Lake Charles High School. Jeanine attended Louisiana State University. Mrs. Reid was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. In her spare time she loved cooking for her family and established Ouida Jeanine Foods Inc.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Katheryn Reid of Beaumont, TX, and Elizabeth "Beth" Ann Reid Crochet and husband Shane of Lake Charles, LA, two sisters, Mary Moll Hickman Swanson and husband James Swanson, and Beth Ann Hickman and husband John Semedik, two brothers, Michael Ashton Hickman and Mark Clinton Hickman and wife Robyn Voltz Hickman, one sister- in- law, Cindy Miller Hickman wife of the late John Nash Hickman, three grandchildren, Charles Hunter Crochet, Alexandra "Alli" Rae Crochet, and Elizabeth Marie Riggs.

Jeanine is preceded in death by her parents John Ashton Hickman and Ouida Louise Nash Hickman and one brother, John Nash Hickman.

Her funeral will be held on May 22, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor Harry D. Grieg will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Zane Hickman, Ashton Hickman, Shane Crochet, Hunter Crochet, Bo Stewart and Doug McElveen.

A special thanks to the ICU unit at Christus St. Patrick Hospital for all of their care and support. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Our Lady Queen of Heaven Junior High building fund.
