Ozer Doucet

Ozer Doucet, 78, of Sulphur died at 1:15 PM on Sunday, September 11, 2011 in his residence.


Mr. Doucet was born on July 24, 1933 in Rayne, LA and lived in Sulphur since 1949. In his earlier years he worked in the oil field as a truck driver and a roust about. He then held jobs with Calcasieu Parish, at Ward 4 Recreation (SPAR), and most recently retired with the City of Sulphur. Mr. Doucet was a member of Central Baptist Church in Sulphur.


He was a hard worker and rarely had free time but when he did he was always helping others and fixing things.


Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Helen D. Doucet; five children and their spouses, Glenn and Beverly Doucet, Gary and Tracy Doucet, Doug and Toni Doucet, Darla Perry and Butch O'Quain, and Mark and Rebecca Doucet all of Sulphur; one brother, Willard Doucet of Georgia; four sisters, Helen Domingue, Claudette Menard, Claudia Spell, and Mary Louise Dolesey all of Sulphur; sixteen grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren


He was preceded in death by his parents, Philiman and Jules Doucet; three brothers; and one sister.


Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. His nephew, Rev. Richard Doucet, will officiate. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
