Pamela Ryder

November 3, 1954 — May 16, 2022

Pamela Hebert Ryder was born on November 3, 1954 and went to meet her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 16, 2022.  She spent her last few days peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Pam dedicated her life to the Lord as a teenager and never looked back. She taught her children the ways of the Master and how to live for Him with all their might. She loved reading God’s word and spending time in prayer.

She was selfless, and her family was her greatest treasure. She kept her household running like a fine-tuned machine, including plenty of fun, loads of laughter and endless delicious meals! She worked alongside her husband in their electrical contracting business, Custom Lighting and Electric, for 27 years. She was an organizer extraordinaire and kept pristine records.

Pam was a vibrant worshipper at Apostolic Temple all her life and worked tirelessly in the Kingdom of God. Whether it was working with young people in Bible Quizzing and youth service, singing in the choir, arranging food for funerals, organizing graduation celebrations, wedding showers, baby showers, etc…she did it all with excellence and she thoroughly ran her race.

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,”
Hebrews 12:1

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Keith Ryder of Lake Charles; daughter, Tonya Pourteau (Brian) of Moss Bluff; son, Rev. Julien Ryder (Andrea) of West Monroe; sister, Sandra Byrd (Bill) of Deridder; and beloved grandchildren, Beaudrie and Gent Ryder.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and John Hebert and a brother, Johnny Hebert.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at the Apostolic Temple.  Pastor Ricky Treece will officiate.  Burial will follow in Green Oaks Cemetery in Kinder under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin in the church on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
