Pastor Dale Lee Nazworth

Pastor Dale Lee Nazworth, 62, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away in Livingston, TX, on Friday, September 30, 2016.

Pastor Nazworth was born on May 28, 1954 to Harold W. Nazworth and Bonita Jo Talbot. He and his parents moved to Lake Charles in 1970 and he graduated from LaGrange High School in 1973. He attended Bible Training at New Tribes Mission and received his Doctorate of Theology from Clarksville Bible College. Pastor Nazworth also completed three years of training at Faith Bible Institute. He was proud to be the pastor of Friendship Baptist Church since 1978 and enjoyed attending Pastor’s Prayer meetings. He loved preaching and enjoyed mowing the lawn, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed going on trips with Jimmy and Sally Snider. Pastor Nazworth was known to never meet a stranger.

Left to cherish Pastor Nazworth’s memory is his loving wife of 42 years, Gloria Toups Nazworth of Lake Charles, LA; two sons, Jason Nazworth of Sulphur, LA and Nathan Nazworth and wife Kristen of Iowa, LA; daughter, Becky Joy Nazworth; seven grandchildren, Jason Lee, Cadence, Jackson, Kainen, Landon, Katie, and Grant; his parents, Harold and Bonnie Nazworth of Orange, TX; two brothers, John Nazworth and wife Phyllis, and Bret Nazworth and wife Wanda; three sisters, Janeil Bankester, Ronda Vansumeren, and Kay Longon and husband Harry; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and church family and friends.

His funeral service will take place at Friendship Baptist Church at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 5, 2016. Reverend Dan Meaders and Reverend Kurt LaBouve will officiate. Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the church and will resume Wednesday morning at 8:00 AM until the time of service.
