James Patrick Manuel, 71, passed away on
September 26, 2018 at a hospice facility in
Beaumont, TX.
Mr. Manuel was born in Ville Platte, LA and
attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
After Pat’s education he served his country during the
Vietnam War in the United States Air Force. He lived
most of his life in Lake Charles, LA where he worked
for Union National Insurance and Security Plan
Insurance companies. He was well known in the Lake
Charles community for his generosity and loved by
his many clients. In his free time he enjoyed hunting
and fishing. His family remembers him as a positive
role model and a kind and gentle man. He most of all
enjoyed being with his family, especially his
grandchildren, and will be dearly missed.
He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Kayla Legrand
Manuel; two children, Chad Manuel, and Amber
Alston and her husband, Keith; four grandchildren,
Hayden, Peyton, Mason, and Layken; and two
siblings, Danny Manuel and his wife, Tonnie, and
Connie Fontenot and her husband, Kerwin.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Emile and
Eura Manuel.
A memorial service will be held at Johnson Funeral
Home on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 3PM. Rev.
Randy Edwards will officiate. Cremation has been
entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will
be at the funeral home Saturday, October 6 at 1PM
until the start of the service.
