Patricia “Patrice” Cecile Bulber, 52, of Lancaster, California, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2016 after a long hard battle with Lupus.

 

Patrice was born on July 26, 1963 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to the parents of Patricia Cavell Bulber and Dr. Francis Gerard Bulber. As a youth, she was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and was a 1981 graduate of St. Louis High School. After graduation, she was accepted into the California Institute for the Performing Arts where she received both a Bachelor’s of Music and a Master’s of Music Degree in Vocal Performance. Patrice continued her vocal studies abroad in Germany. She also received a Master’s Degree in Theology from the University of Loyola at Marymount. Patrice taught for 19 years at Serra High School in Los Angeles, California, where she built a highly successful choral program, liturgical choir, marching band and jazz band. She served as the Director of Choral Music at St. Clare Catholic Church in Los Angeles. In her spare time, she enjoyed teaching private music lessons. With her talent, she was able to record movie sound tracks and was a member of the Screen Actors Guild. She performed as a member of the Roger Wagner Chorale in Los Angeles and as the soprano soloists with the Lake Charles Messiah Chorus. She loved to sing, teach music, perform in theatre, and research.

 

She is survived by her loving mother, Mary Patricia Cavell Bulber of Lake Charles, LA; one brother, Gerard Sean Bulber and his wife Jeanine of Belleville, IL; one sister, Colette Marie Bulber Tanner and her husband, Marcus of Lake Charles, LA; one sister-in-law, Betty Reed of Beaumont, TX; nephews and one niece, Aaron, Benjamin and Colin Tanner of Lake Charles, LA; Evan F. Reed of Belleville, IL; and Dr. Kenneth L. Reed, Dr. Michael J. Reed, James K. Reed and Janet L. Reed of Dallas, TX; and her loving care-giver, Patrick Henry of Detroit, MI.

 

Patrice is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Francis Gerard Bulber; one sister, Mary Frances Bulber Reed; and one brother-in-law, John Vallie Reed.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 13 at 11AM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Msgr. Daniel Torres will be the celebrant. Visitation will begin at 10AM in the church with a Rosary at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
