Patricia "Bootsie" Melancon

Ryanette Patricia “Bootsie” Melancon, 61, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 11:05 AM on Monday, October 9, 2017 in her residence.

Mrs. Melancon was born January 10, 1956 in Lake Charles, LA, was a 1974 graduate of Lake Charles High School and attended McNeese State University. She lived various locations including Key West, FL, which she loved before settling back down in Lake Charles in 1981. Mrs. Melancon was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and worked the past ten years at CITGO in Public Relations. She enjoyed volunteering her time with a multitude of non-profit organizations. She enjoyed reading, traveling with her husband and loved spending time with her grandchildren and friends.

Mrs. Melancon is survived by her husband of thirty-nine years, Randy Melancon of Lake Charles; daughters, Mandy Brook Cortez and husband Carol of Kenner, LA, Randee Ellen Drayton and husband Ryan of Lake Charles and Katie Elaine Melancon of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Morgan Brook Brown, Grace Madison Cortez, Caroline Mae Cortez, Wally Ryan Drayton, Adrian Jayde Bruney, and Khloe Elaine Meaux; four sisters; three brothers; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and her favorite cat, Claira Belle.

She was preceded in death by her father, Guilford Ryan Hoffpauir; mother, Elizabeth Josephine Granger Ardoin; and an infant sister.

Her memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Marcus Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Sallier Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the start of the service and a rosary at 12:00 PM.
