Patricia Ann Prejean Goodfriend, 85, of Sulphur, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 1, 2024. Patricia was born on January 21, 1939, to Eli and Rita Prejean. She was a 1957 graduate of Sulphur High School. Patricia enjoyed playing softball and coached for many years. She enjoyed camping and going on vacations to Colorado with her late husband and family. Tin Cup and Turquoise Lake were some of her favorite places as well as Galveston and the gulf coast. You couldn't walk in her kitchen without hearing her favorite music playing. When she wasn't listening to her music she enjoyed her quiet time with a western book. Patricia raised her children at home until 1980, where she began working for the public school system as a bus driver for 21 years. She was a Eucaristic minister for homebound parish members of Our Lady of Prompt Succor and attended daily mass at Our Lady of LaSalette. Patricia dearly loved her grandchildren and she will be missed by them.
Those left to cherish the memory of Patricia are her daughter, Julie Ann Dallas; sons, Randall James and Jay Paul Nicholas Goodfriend (Cayse); brother-in-law, Joe (Charlotte); 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Rita and Eli Prejean; daughter, Valeri; husband, A.J. Nicholas Goodfriend;sister Joyce Abshire; brother, Jack Prejean.
The family would like to thank Sage Oak Assisted Living Facility, especially Chef Sue, Nurse Carolyn, Nurse Talia, Nurse Amber, and caregivers, Jessica, Don, Shay, and the many others who attentively cared for her in her last days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 4, 2024, at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church. The family will receive guests starting at 5 PM until 8 PM on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. A recitation of the Rosary will be held on Sunday at 6 PM at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. Visitation will resume Monday morning at 8 AM until time to leave for Mass.
