Patsy Derouen, 71, of Lake Charles passed away Monday, June 03, 2013 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family following a one year, courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Mrs. Derouen was born, raised and lived most of her life in Holmwood. She worked as a Bookkeeper in the Banking Industry for Calcasieu Marine National Bank and Calcasieu Parish Teacher's and Employees Credit Union. She was trained and responsible for the first ATM in Lake Charles and the first computerized system at the credit union. She was a member of AMICUS Club and St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Mrs. Derouen enjoyed morning and evening walks with her husband. She also enjoyed traveling around the world, flower gardening and collecting figurines. Her greatest times were shared with her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband of 55 years, Patrick Pat Derouen of Lake Charles; four children, Jody Derouen and wife Cindy of Bridge City, Timothy Derouen and wife Michelle of Gonzales, Suzanne Chapman and husband Randall of Moss Bluff and Laura Fruge and husband Thomas of Moss Bluff; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one sister, Betty Broussard and husband Wilfred Jr. of Lake Charles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Addison and Lilly Louviere Broussard and one sister, Nell Chitty.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 08, 2013 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Father Keith Pellerin will officiate. A gathering of friends will begin at 9:00 AM followed by a rosary in the church. A celebration of life will follow the memorial service in the church. In respect of the wishes of Mrs. Derouen, her body was donated to research at LSU Shreveport. Interment will follow at a later date in the Derouen Lorraine Cemetery in Hayes.
