Patsy Jane Dupré Miller, 64, of Lake Charles passed away on Monday, July 31, 2017.
Patsy was born December 25, 1952, to Rawlond and Emma Manuel Dupré in Mamou, LA and raised in Lake Charles. She was a 1970 graduate of LaGrange Senior High and a 1975 graduate of McNeese State University. Patsy taught middle school students in Cameron Parish for 32 ½ years beginning at South Cameron Elementary and retiring from Grand Lake High School. After retiring, she returned to teaching at St. Margaret Catholic School.
The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Church was Patsy’s place of worship. Going to mass and praying were instilled in her and her siblings by their parents, Rawlond and Emma Dupré.
Patsy is survived by her son, Brandon Miller and wife Leanne of Roswell, GA; daughter, Lori Miller Brown and husband Thomas of Moss Bluff, LA; father of her children, Roderick Miller of Lake Charles, LA; grandchildren, Will, Louis, and Simon Brown, and Olivia and Cora Miller; parents, Rawlond and Emma Manuel Dupré; siblings, JoAnn Dupré Droddy (Mitch), Darlene Dupré Baker (Lynn), Kenneth Dupré (Pamela), and Darryl Dupré (Leah), all of Lake Charles; sister-in-law, Caroline Dupré Matt, of Iowa; Godmother, Bernice LaFleur of Lake Charles, Godchild, Amy Nixon; and nieces and nephews.
Patsy is preceded in death by her brother, Rawlond Dupré, Jr.
On Saturday, August 5, 2017, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, a Rosary will begin at 9:30 AM. A memorial mass, officiated by Monsignor Harry Greig, will follow the rosary. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the Avé Maria Hall immediately following the mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, in honor of Patsy Miller.
