Patsy Gwen Ball Grabowski

September 28, 1939 — February 18, 2014

Pasty Gwen Ball Grabowski, 74, went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 18, 2014. Services will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Sulphur at 11 A.M. with Dr. David Holder officiating. Burial will be at Mimosa Pines South. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 3-9 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home and resume on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 9 am til the time of service at the church. She was born and raised in Lake Charles. She married her best friend, Edward Grabowski Jr. on August 8, 1959 and together they raised their family in Sulphur. Pat was a 1957 graduate of Lake Charles High School. She graduated from McNeese State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She was a dedicated registered nurse at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital for 25 years. After retiring, she cared for hospice patients and their families through Odyssey Hospice. Pat was awarded the 1993-1994 West Calcasieu Cameron Registered Nurse of the Year Achievement of Excellence Award. She was also awarded Preceptor of the Year. Pat was an active member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur and the Agin Cajun Choir. Pat was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being a nurse, caring for patients and their families. She was supportive and nurturing to the student nurses and new R.N.s she worked with. She spent many good times with her friends and Sunday School class. She cherished her time with her husband and family, especially the wonderful memories at their camp in Toledo Bend. Pat is survived by her adoring husband of 54 years, Edward Grabowski, Jr.; her three children, son, Michael Grabowski, Jr. of Sulphur and daughters, Julie Grabowski and companion Jody McKelvy of Sulphur and Kathryn Erbelding and husband Wallace of Carlyss; brother, Edward Arlen Ball and wife Judy of Carlyss and sister, Charlotte Trouth and husband Jim of Westlake; sister-in-law, Connie Braun of Florida; her 12 precious grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Marie Ball; daughter, Melissa Gwen Grabowski: and precious great granddaughter, Melissa Kathleen Dowers.
