Patsy Ruth Johnson

Patsy Ruth Johnson, 74, of Lake Charles passed away at 5:19 PM on Thursday, March 30, 2023 in her daughter's residence.

Ms. Johnson was born on May 14, 1948 in Lake Charles before moving to Grand Lake where she was a graduate of Grand Lake High School.  In the early 1980’s, she moved back to Lake Charles and was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.  Ms. Johnson worked as a secretary for Joe Champeaux Architect for many years. 

She took pleasure in cooking, dancing, and gardening.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Melissa Crador of Lake Charles; a son, Mark Crador of Sulphur; brothers, Gerald Richard (Joan) of Lake Charles and Eldred Richard (Roberta) of Iowa; grandchildren, Bella Pousson and Jacie Crador; and a great grandson, Daxton Crador.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Russell Crador; her parents, Della and Gilferd Richard; and a brother, Ervin Richard.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 3, 2023 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel.  Father Wayne LeBleu will officiate.  Burial will follow in Grand Lake Community Cemetery.  Visitation will begin on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM.  Visitation will resume on Monday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Harbor Hospice, her nurse, Sherry, and her sitters, Laura, Francy, Theresa, and Terry, for the exceptional care given to Ms. Johnson.
