Pattie Hurlbut

Pattie Hurlbut, 70, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

She was born on December 1, 1952 in Lake Charles, LA to Noel and Eula Hurlbut.
Pattie loved to play guitar and sing with friends and family. At the age of 16 she played bass guitar at the old Shakey’s. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandsons, fishing, tending to the horses, or just hanging out and talking. She never met a stranger and was always making jokes. Pattie worked in the Auto Industry for 42 years before retiring in 2012. She loved watching LSU football. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving wife of 31 years, Gretchen Nelson-Hurlbut; daughter, Jessica Talbott (Delwin); grandchildren, Delwin, Jr. “Hotrod”, Dalton, and Dakota; brothers-in-law, Steve Dartez, Ned Nelson, Jr. (Marie), and Tim Nelson (Laura); sister-in-law, Eva Carol Hurlbut; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Raymond Hurlbut; sisters, Clara Sonnier and Charlene Dartez, and brother-in-law, James Sonnier.

A gathering of friends and family to celebrate her life will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Everyone is asked to wear their LSU gear. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.
