Patty Dehaven

March 27, 1929 — February 21, 2024

Patty Collings DeHaven, 94, a longtime resident of Lake Charles, passed away on Wednesday February 21, 2024 at a Houston Care Facility.

Patty was a native of Church Point and lived in Lake Charles most of her life. Thanks to her independent and determined nature, Patty enjoyed a successful career in the insurance industry. After retirement, Patty enjoyed a quiet, simple life that often included just spending time with the people she loved. Her family and friends were always the center of her life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lake Charles where she participated in many different activities and small groups.

Preceding Patty in death are her parents, William Eugene and Lacie Hoffpauir Collings; brothers, Archie Collings, Edwin Collings, Robert Collings, and H. Carroll Collings; and sisters, Edith Graeper and Joyce Dornack.

Those left to honor and cherish her memories are her son, Hal DeHaven, of Tomball, Texas, her sister, Wanna Finch, also of Tomball, Texas, and her numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family of the heart.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday February 29, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Funeral services officiated by Rev. Weldon Bares will begin at 2:00 PM at the funeral home chapel with entombment to follow at Consolata Cemetery.
