Paul Gary Stein

Paul Gary Stein, 64, of Lake Charles, passed away on Monday April 15, 2024 at his residence.

Paul was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles. He was a 1977 graduate of Lake Charles High School where he participated in Track and Cross Country. Paul worked in the construction business, which he enjoyed doing his entire adult life. He joined the Lake Charles Fire Department in 1990, retiring from active service as a Captain from Company 4 in 2010. Paul was well known for his cooking abilities, which was secondary to his passion of eating! He enjoyed hunting in his younger years and was well recognized around town with his four-legged Border Collie sidekick, Missy. Most of all, Paul was proud of his entire family. He constantly reminded his children and grandchildren how proud he was of them and was a source of encouragement for not only his family, but friends as well.

Preceding Paul in death are his parents, Ervin Leroy and Rena Eloise Fontenot Stein. He leaves to honor his memory his children, Scott LeBlanc (Lauren) and children, Annelise, Aubrey, Caleb, Benjamin and Nathanael, St. Martinville; Eric LeBlanc (Kathleen) and children, Emma, Camille and Andrew, Lake Charles; Katie VanHorn (Lyle) and children Kevin and Kale, Cypress, TX; Lance Stein (Hillarie) and children, Lusie and Lillie, Cow Island; and Lisa Leblanc (A.J.); and daughter, Savannah, Welsh; siblings, Tim Stein, Niceville, FL; Mary Jane Guidroz (Ronnie), Lake Charles; Jackie Landry (Keith), Moss Bluff; Sue Cavys, Ragley; Mike Stein (Sandy), Westlake; Mark Stein (Karen) Moss Bluff and Peggy LeBlanc (Ray), Sulphur; and countless nieces, nephews and extended family of the heart.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday April 19, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. Private Inurnment will take place at a later date at Lacassine Cemetery.
