Paul Maxwell Trost, 59, of Westlake, died Tuesday 2/17/15 at a local hospital following an extended illness. Paul " Max" Trost was a native of Florida. He completed 4 years in the U.S. Air Force and spent the remainder of his life as an aviator and entrepreneur. He was licensed to fly airplanes and helicopters, and was a certified flight instructor. He crop dusted throughout the U.S. and in Egypt and he owned tour guide operations in the U.S. and Costa Rica. He was most known in Southwest Louisiana as the owner and chief pilot of Max Air Helicopters, LLC. He specialized in aerial chartering, pipeline patrols, aerial photography and land documentation with Lindsey Janies Photography, LLC, and helicopter tours at fairs and festivals. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mable Spell Trost, and his father, John "Jack" Trost . Left to honor his memory is his son Max Trost, 15, a student at Sulphur High School; brother, Michael Trost and wife Karen, Utah; sister Ann Hayes and husband Patrick, Montana; step mother Katherine Trost Stultz and husband Robert, Virginia. Visitation will be from 4-6pm, Thursday, February 19, at First Baptist Church of Sulphur, with a memorial service at 6:00 PM.
