Paul N. Scott, Sr.

June 8, 1948 — September 3, 2010

Paul Neil Scott, Sr., age 62, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010, at a local hospital.


Born June 8, 1948, in Seattle, WA, Paul was self employed most of his life. He did land surveying as well as owning Scotty's Roofing and Paul's Tractor Service. Paul loved camping and fishing in Toledo Bend. He was a true outdoorsman, enjoying nature through deer hunting at his lease. Paul loved music, especially playing the guitar. Cooking was also a favorite of his, spoiling his family with his good cooking that they will definitely miss, along with his loving and kind spirit he always portrayed. Preceding Paul in death was his father, Phillip Scott, his step-father, Ed Ellender, a brother, Gary Scott, and his father-in-law, Clifford Mire.


Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Polly Mire Scott of Moss Bluff; his mother, Ruth Ellender of Lake Charles; his children, Paul Scott, Jr. and wife, Michelle, and their children, Noah, Jude, and Phinn all of Ft. Knox, KY, Michael Scott of Beaumont, TX, Lacey Scott of Lake Charles, and Jacob Scott of Moss Bluff; a sister, Charlotte Kaough and husband, Jimmy of Lake Charles; a brother, Phillip Scott, Jr. of Portland, OR; his mother-in-law, Mildred Crochet Mire of Jennings; a brother-in-law, Calvin Mire and wife, Velina of Jennings; and a sister-in-law, Debbie LeJeune and husband, Mason of Roanoke.


His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 6, 2010, at Johnson Funeral Home. Pastor Richard Watson will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday, September 5, from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Monday, September 6, from 10 a.m. until time of services.
