Paul Peter Boulos Reggie

Paul Peter "Boulos" Reggie, 47, of Lake Charles died at 2:48 PM on Thursday, August 5, 2010 in Natchitoches, LA.

Born July 16, 1963 in Crowley, Mr. Reggie attended St. Michael Elementary and Notre Dame High School. He graduated from The Williston Northampton School in Massachusetts and earned an undergraduate degree and Juris Doctorate from Tulane Law School. Mr. Reggie clerked for the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal, was Assistant Attorney General for the State of Louisiana, and was employed as Assistant District Attorney for Calcasieu Parish District Attorney's Office for over 19 years until his death. During that time, he served under four different District Attorneys.

He was a member of Southwest Louisiana Bar Association (SWLBA) from 2004 to present. Mr. Reggie received the Committee Chair of the Year Award and was elected SWLBA Secretary in 2007. He also served as Treasurer in 2008, President-Elect in 2009, and was current President of the organization until his death.

He was awarded Outstanding D.A. for Calcasieu Parish D.A.'s Office 2000-2001 by the VFW Post 2130 and Ladies Auxiliary. He was currently serving as Hearing Committee Chair for the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board.

Mr. Reggie held active memberships in Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity at Tulane University, American Bar Association, and was Fund-raising Chairman and Class Agent for the Class of 1982 at The Williston Northampton School.

He was an active member of the ICCS School Board and served as an usher for Immaculate Conception Cathedral. He was elected to Serra Club of Lake Charles Board of Directors and held the position of Vice President, External Programs.

Mr. Reggie is survived by his wife of 17 years Tina Kadlubar Reggie and a son and daughter, Jonah Paul Evgeny and Sofia Anne Ekaterina; mother, Barbara Dumesnil Reggie of Crowley; four sisters: Mary Elizabeth (Dennis) Istre, Donna (Michael) Fruge, Barbara Ann (Aaron) Hornsby, all of Crowley, and Yvonne (Garry) Balentine of Baton Rouge; sister-in-law Gwen (Gerald)Young, two brothers: Samuel J. (Keral)Reggie, Jr. and John F. (Susan) Reggie both of Crowley; in laws: Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kadlubar of Lake Charles, brothers-in-law: Daniel (Tracie) Kadlubar of Lake Charles and Bernard (Kathryn) Kadlubar of Austin, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Samuel Joseph Reggie, Sr. and a brother, Lawrence Louis Reggie.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Immaculate Conception Cathedral School in memory of Paul Reggie, 1536 Ryan St., Lake Charles, LA 70601.

He was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father, brother, son, and friend and will be dearly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 9, 2010 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 2 o'clock. Msgr. Jace Eskind, rector of the Cathedral will officiate. Concelebrating will be the Rev. Msgr. Keith DeRouen. Interment will be at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. with scripture service at 6:30 p.m. followed by rosary. Visitation on Monday is from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
