Paul Rayland Bourque, Sr., 76, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021, in his Starks home with his family at his side.
Paul was a 1962 graduate of Marion High School. He worked as a lineman for Gulf States Utilities and retired after 35 years of service. Paul was also a member of IBEW Local 2286 for over 30 years. He enjoyed drag racing, classic cars and Swamp Pop and oldies.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53-½ years, Roberta Clark “Sissy” Bourque; three children, Paula K. Thomson and husband, David of Pearland, TX, Paul Bourque, Jr., and wife Jenny of Starks; and Joshua A. Bourque and wife Kasondra of Orange, TX; five grandchildren Rebekah Bourque, Alexander Bourque, Kaylee Thomson, Kilian Thomson, and Cameron Bourque; four step grandchildren, Matt, Mark, Nina and Donald; nine step great grandchildren; brother, A. J. Bourque, Jr. and wife Maryann of Lake Charles; brothers-in-law, Shelton Dartez and wife, Carolyn, and Darryl Royer and wife Lucy; sister-in-law, Kristi Clark; and his best friend, Jerry Lee Granger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Avie and Evelia Bourque.
A Memorial Service celebrating Paul’s life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 7, 2021, in Johnson and Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur. A gathering of family and friends will be 9-11am, Saturday.
