Pauline Rogers

October 4, 1930 — December 17, 2011

Pauline Rogers, 81, of Sulphur, passed away on December 17, 2011 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Sulphur with Dr. David Holder officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Robison Funeral Home and will resume at the First Baptist Church of Sulphur on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. until time of service. Pauline was a native of Leesville and a longtime Sulphur resident. After high school she got her degree in education from McNeese State University. She taught third grade at Hamilton Elementary and Pickering Elementary Schools. Pauline later got her Masters Degree from LSU in social work. She was a licensed social worker until her death. Pauline was a very active member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur where she sang in the church choir and the Agin Cajun Choir . She also volunteered many hours at Care Help; including leading a weekly Bible Study. Pauline is survived by her three sons; John L. Mathis and wife, Judy of Sulphur, Robert Glenn Rogers and wife, Belinda of Mansfield, LA and Ted Rogers and wife, Nina of Sulphur; four daughters; Claire Johnson of Beaumont, Jimmie M. Chaumont of Sulphur, Suzie Welch and husband, Carlton of Leesville and Juanita Malkemes and husband, Ray of Racine, WI; sister; Mary Alice Ponthieux and husband, Murphy of Kilgore, TX; 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren,1 great- great grandchild and her best friend, Jimmie Rogers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Rogers; daughter, Jo Elyn White and son, Billy Wayne Rogers.
