Pearl Marie Faulk Russell

Pearl Marie (Faulk) Russell, 80, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on November 13, 2023 after a brief illness and hospice stay.  Pearl was born on February 11, 1943, in Crowville, Louisiana to the late B.B. and Pearl Faulk.

Pearl grew up in “Old Maplewood” as she liked to call it and graduated from Sulphur High School.  Pearl worked many years in retail around the Sulphur area including long stays at Gibson’s Discount Center and Patio Gardens.  Pearl spent most of her younger days shuffling her four boys around to numerous school, social and athletic events.  After retiring she enjoyed traveling and spending time on the water fishing, especially at Toledo Bend, with her late husband of 58 years Barry.  She was also an avid baseball fan with the Houston Astros being her favorite team.  She was also a supporter of the LSU Tigers and Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

Family left to cherish her memory include her sons, daughters-in-law and five grandchildren:  Wesley and Laura with grandson Mark all of Tyler, Texas; Ryan and Missy with grandsons Kaelob and Kody of Carlyss; Greg and Kristi and grandsons Chase and Cade of Carlyss.

Pearl is also survived by a brother and sister and their families; brother John and sister-in-law Joan Faulk of Carlyss; sister Mary and brother-in-law Billy Brister of DeRidder.

Pearl was recently preceded in death by her husband Barry E Russell and youngest son Beau C Russell.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Memorial Hospital and Tulane University Medical Center Neuro Unit, as well as the special nurses and staff at Lake Charles’ Harbor Hospice.  We also would like to especially thank her niece, Tina Kinney; her neighbors and friends who helped her after the passing of Barry and Beau, you are appreciated more than you will ever know.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson & Robison Funeral Home.

There will be a private gathering of family and friends at a later date to celebrate the life of Pearl, Barry and Beau and intern their ashes to their final resting place.
