Peggie Ann Mcgee Jones

Peggie Ann McGee Jones, 72, of Lake Charles, LA died at 12:50 PM on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in a Lafayette hospital.

Mrs. Jones was born July 4, 1939 in Lake Charles, LA, where she has lived all of her life. She was a graduate of LaGrange High School and previously owned a daycare in her home. She was a top salesperson in Home Interiors for eleven years. She was owner of Smokey Joe's for thirty-one years with her husband and also owned Jude's Deli. She loved traveling and seeing the world with her husband and friends, and enjoyed sewing, taking pictures, and creating memory books.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her loving husband of fifty-two years, James "Jim" Jones, Sr.; son, James Jones, Jr. and wife Angela of Spring, TX; three grandchildren, Victoria Anne Jones, Matthew James Jones, and Stephen Andrew Jones; brothers, Curtis McGee and wife Phebe of Acworth, GA and Glen McGee of Pflugerville, TX; and sisters, Joy Penland and husband Calvin of Crocker, MO and Leona McGee and Ray Peterson of Port Allen, LA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Gladys Arabie McGee and brother, Joseph "Joe" McGee.

Her funeral service will be at 11:30 AM on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Gilbert Reese and Charlie Kerr will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
