Peggy Guidry

Peggy Ellen Goodrich Guidry was born March 4, 1939, to Homer and Cleo (LeDoux) Goodrich. On Sunday, January 23, 2022, one final tear slipped from her eye as she took her last breath before quietly beginning her journey towards her heavenly home.

Raised in Carlyss, Peggy graduated from Sulphur High. She married her high school sweetheart, Benson “Benny” Guidry. Together they raised their 4 children. She worked at TG&Y as well as Vincent Settlement Elementary but was co-owner of WiniPeg Grocery in Carlyss. She also co-owned and ran The Carlyss Café for many years. Peggy loved visiting with all her customers, many becoming friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Vince (Bridget) Guidry of Sulphur, Victor Guidry of Kingsport, TN, Van (Heidi) Guidry of Carlyss, and Victoria Grace (Shane) Fast of Baton Rouge; 12 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; brother, Ralph Goodrich; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Stutes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Guidry, and her parents, Homer and Cleo Goodrich.

Funeral services honoring Peggy’s life will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, January 29, 2022, in Johnson & Robison Funeral Home of Sulphur.  Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery South. Pastor Jay Lawson will officiate. Visitation will be 4PM – 8PM, Friday and resume Saturday, 8AM until time of services at 10AM.  Words of comfort and memories may be shared with the family at www.robisonfuneralhome.com.
