Peggy Joyce Woosley, 75, of Lake Charles died at 5:30 PM on Friday, October 11, 2013 in a local hospital. Mrs. Woosley was born on December 7, 1937 in Lake Charles, LA where she resided all of her life and was a graduate of LaGrange High School. Mrs. Woosley was an active and dedicated member of Glad Tidings Church where she was involved in numerous food outreach programs, was a door greeter and also an intercessor. She was known for her giving personality and volunteered much of her time. Mrs. Woosley was an avid reader of mystery novels, had a passion for craft work including knitting and crocheting, and in her earlier years she enjoyed gardening. Those left to cherish her memory are two nieces, Jennifer Reeser and her husband Jason of Westlake and Melissa Potts Bengel of Broken Arrow, OK; and a brother-in-law, Jim Potts and his wife Ann of Carlyss. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Oscar Carlton Woosley; her parents, Pauline and Claude "Monk" Maiden; a brother, Ted Maiden; and a sister, Claudette Maiden Potts. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Doyle Evans will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
