Peggy Jones Morrison, 81, of Westlake, LA, died at 7:02 PM on Monday, February 24, 2014 in her residence surrounded by her family. Mrs. Morrison was born May 15, 1932 in Roseland, LA and was a 1950 graduate of Amite High School. She has lived in Westlake, LA since 1954 and was a member of Bellview Baptist Church. She was a Past Matron of the Westlake Chapter #228 Order of the Eastern Star, and she worked as an ambulance driver and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Westlake Fire Department. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, camping, and reading but her true passion in life was for God and her family. She will always be remembered as a shy, yet witty lady with a memorable sense of humor. Mrs. Morrison is survived by her loving husband of sixty-three years, Samuel Morrison; daughter, Marge Renfrow and husband Rick of Sulphur; son, Mark Morrison and wife Kashonna of Carlyss; son-in-law, Paul Baker of Westlake; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Baker, her parents, and five siblings. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Bellview Baptist Church in Westlake, LA under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Oliver McGuire and Reverend John Ward will officiate. Burial will follow in Westlake Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with an Eastern Star Funeral service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
