Peggy Rose Bridges

Peggy Rose Akins Bridges, 80, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022 at a local Care Center.  Mrs. Bridges was born on October 3, 1941 in Delhi, La to William James and Lillian Edna (Moreland) Akins.  She Loved attending her grandchildren’s softball and volleyball games and following her grandson’s Pro bull-riding career. Peggy also enjoyed spending holidays with her family and going on numerous trips with her husband.  She enjoyed landscaping, shopping, watching Pro football games and of course LSU. She also treasured attending monthly SHS Class of 1959 Alumni luncheons.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 34 years, Larry Glenn Bridges; children, Kami Dee Teel (Robbie), Keli Lanaye Sutherland (Heath), Michael Dale Barbeau (Heather) and Kaci Dalayne Abshire (Anthony); 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Doyle Akins (Elaine); 1 niece and 1 nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 11, 2022 in Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff with Rev. Jon Hair officiating.  Visitation will be on Saturday at the funeral home from 11:00am until service time. Burial will follow in Creel Memorial Gardens at Camp Pearl.
