Percy Aucoin, 68, of Hayes passed away at 5:23 AM, Saturday, May 9, 2015 in his residence with his family surrounding him. Percy was a native and lifelong resident of Hayes and a graduate of Bell City High School. He served as Justice of the Peace for twenty-eight years and worked for the Calcasieu Parish School Board in the Maintenance Department for twenty-seven years. Percy was very proud of his Cajun Heritage, speaking Cajun French, French Music, and playing his accordion. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in his garden, but most of all spending time with his wife and family. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Paula Rawlins Aucoin; children, Katrina Aucoin Stephens and friend Myron Hardy, Blaine Aucoin, and Kizzy Aucoin Sanford and husband David all of Hayes; three grandchildren, Lexi Stephens Hagen and husband Jacob, Bryce Stephens, Marcus Sanford, and Percy's Son-In-Law, Wyman Stephens, and one sister Madeline Leonard. He is preceded in death by his brother and sister, Weldon Aucoin, and Genevieve O'Blanc. His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Emanuel Tanu will officiate. Burial will be in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Celebration of Life service at 6:00 PM, and continue from 9:00 AM until time of service, Tuesday, in the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Bryce Stephens, Jacob Hagen, Myron Hardy, Wyman Stephens, David Sanford, Dana Aucoin, and Greg Hebert.
