Perlita Vallete Lazo, 48, of Lake Charles died Monday, September 27, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mrs. Lazo was born in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya and was raised and educated in the Philippines. She was a graduate of Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines where she attained a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Mrs. Lazo moved with her husband to Gretna, LA in 2002, settling in Lake Charles after hurricane Katrina. She worked as a Casino Dealer for L'auberge Du Lac Casino. She attended Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church.
Perlita enjoyed movies, traveling and visiting friends. Her greatest times were spent with her family, as she was a devoted wife, loving mother and faithful friend. She will be most remembered for her quiet, caring, kind and gentle spirit and for her smile.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 8 years, Mel Acosta Lazo, Sr. of Lake Charles; two sons, Mel Acosta Lazo, Jr. and Brian Michael Lazo, both of Lake Charles; one daughter, Maya Vallete Lazo of Lake Charles; her father, Roberto Vallete of Lake Charles; two brothers, Ruperto and Daniel Vallete, both of the Philippines; three sister- in- laws, Theresita Vallete, Thelma Sonza and Marilou Lua; two brother- in- laws, Enrique, Jr. and Rudy Lazo and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Eufemia DeVera Vallete.
Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM Thursday, September 30, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Nathan Long will officiate. Visitation Thursday will be from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 2, 2010 in Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna, LA.
