Phillip Allen Pittman

Phillip Allen Pittman, 84, passed away at his residence on Monday, February 28, 2022.  Phillip was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 28, 1937.  He joined the Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Hornet before being honorably discharged after 6 years of service to our country.  Phillip carried his leadership skills into various organizations.  He was a proud member of ACTS Leadership at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Team National, St. Philomena, Electrical Union, and the Commercial Contractor’s Union. 

Phillip is survived by his wife, Marion “Mike” Pittman; daughters, Caline Pittman, Dixie Love, Tracy Pittman Barnes and husband, Jim, and Dana Whittington and husband, Don; his mother, Katherine Tiner Pace: brother, John Pittman and wife, Lois; grandchildren, Justin Moak and wife, Kim, Jordan Moak and wife, Alexa, Brooke Barnes, Jenna Barnes, Erika Whittington; and his great grandchildren, Caleb Moak, Kacie Moak, Evelyn Moak, Colbie Moak and Isaac Moak.   He is preceded in death by his sisters, Juanita “Rose” Ruhlow, Lorraine “Stacy” Johnson; brothers, Randolf “Ted” Pittman and Conrad “Connie” Pittman.

On March 10, 2022, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, a rosary will be said at 9 AM followed by a memorial service for Phillip at 9:30 AM with Father Edward Richard officiating.  The family will have fellowship in Father Vecchio hall from 10:30-11:30 AM.  At 11:45 AM, the funeral procession will leave the church and proceed to Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, LA, where the presentation of honors and burial will take place at 1:30 PM.
