Phillip Dexter Gann

Phillip Dexter Gann, 64, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 in his residence.

Mr. Gann was born September 23, 1958 in Lake Charles, LA, lived a number of years in Old Forge, PA, but spent most of his adult years in Lake Charles.  He was a 1976 graduate of Teurlings Catholic High School, attended Seminary, and served his country in the U. S. Air Force.  He worked as a plumber throughout the years.  Mr. Gann enjoyed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and enjoyed playing guitar and singing for his family gatherings.  He also enjoyed playing video games and loved the New Orleans Saints and LSU Football.  He always had a rough exterior but was a big teddy bear with a bigger heart for his family.  He enjoyed time spent with his siblings and his nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gann is survived by his sisters, RaeDean Dean (Chad), Dorothy “DeeDee” Rhodes (Richard), all of Lake Charles, Brenda Louviere (Robert) of Sulphur, and Jennie Mubarak (Jeff) of Livingston, TX; nieces and nephews, Scott Dean, Misty Cockrell (Kevin), Monique Young (Matthew), Gabe Gann (Lisa), Shane Gann (Trina), Kristen Cain (James), Lee Louviere (Lulu), Emily Hickson (Gary), Shay Louviere, Joshua Mubarak, Matthew Mubarak (Megan) and Kaitlynn Sircy (Camden); along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Ray and Rose Marie Fox Gann; brother, Robert “Roby” Gann; and nephew, Cody Gann.

His cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.  A family celebration will be on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at RaeDean and Chad Dean’s home.  Please contact the family for the address.
