Phyllis Marie Misner

Phyllis Marie Misner, 62, of Lake Charles passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 in a local care facility.

Phyllis was born January 18, 1959 in Lake Charles, LA to Joe and Margaret Montalbano. She was a graduate of LaGrange High School class of 1978. While working at Burger King during high school she met the love of her life and future husband Terry. They enjoyed raising their children together and joking with each other.

Phyllis worked many years at local daycares and enjoyed taking care of children. She was an avid Saints fan and loved watching them play. She loved to talk on the phone with her close friends and discuss all the highlights of the game. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and coloring. She was most proud of her granddaughters and loved sharing their pictures with family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Erin Dartez and husband Stewart of Moss Bluff and Megan Walden of Dinwiddie, VA; brother Mike Montalbano and wife Marianne of Arkansas; sister-in-law Marsha Misner of Lake Charles; and granddaughters Skyler, Danner, and Mackenzie Dartez and Donna Gayle Walden. She will also be missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Terry Misner, parents Joe and Margaret Montalbano and sister June Montalbano.

Cremation has been entrusted to Simple Traditions by Johnson Funeral Home and a memorial service of her life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff of Allen Oaks Nursing Home in Oakdale, LA for taking care of their mother over the last year.
