Pierrette L. Brown, 82, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 while evacuated due to Hurricane Laura. She was a resident of Westlake, Louisiana for the last 59 years.
She was born September 26,1937 in La Rondelle du Rochereau, France to Pierre and Madeleine Brault. While working as a translator on an American Air Force base in France she met the love of her life, Bruce Brown. They married in 1959 and lived in France for several years before Bruce relocated the family to his home state of Louisiana in 1961.
She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to travel and was an excellent cook. Her love of learning and the importance of education was instilled in her children and grandchildren. She was fluent in several languages and taught French and English for many years in several schools in Lake Charles and Westlake, La.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Noelle Hefler (Sheldon) and Brigitte Brown Blasini; grandchildren, Jordan Hefler, Morgan Hefler and Eli Blasini; her brother, Daniel Brault and niece, Celine Brault Cheymol both of France.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Brown; son, Lawrence Brown; her parents; and her brothers, Henri Brault and Jean-Pierre Brault.
Her visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff from 10:30 a.m until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 3,2020. The funeral service will follow from 11:30 a.m. until Noon. A private burial will be held at a later time.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Louise Becnel, and all of the staff, doctors and nurses of Stonebridge Place in Sulphur, Christus Hospice of Lake Charles, Princeton Place of Ruston, LA, and Louisiana Hospice of Monroe, Louisiana.
In these extraordinary times of a global pandemic, economic woes and the Hurricane Laura devastation to this area, we ask that you love one another never taking for granted what really matters. We understand that circumstances will prevent many from being able to physically be with us. We welcome your prayers for mom from wherever you are.
