Rachel Rashall Moss, 47, of Moss Bluff, LA passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016, in a Lake Charles hospital after a lengthy illness.
Ms. Moss was born September 9, 1968 to Carolyn and Sam Rashall in Alexandria, LA. She grew up in Moss Bluff and graduated from Sam Houston High School. Rachel then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from McNeese State University. She worked at the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s Office of Juvenile Justice Services for ten years and was presently employed by Medical Provider Services.
Rachel was a faithful member of St. Theodore Catholic Church in Moss Bluff. She was selfless, kind, and generous. She knew without a shadow of a doubt that eternal life extended beyond this world, and she put her faith alone in Jesus Christ. Rachel was an inspiration to everyone who knew her, and she will long be remembered for the genuine love she bestowed upon her family and friends, all of which made the lives of many so much brighter. As she passes from this life to a better one, Rachel’s gentle spirit, kindness, and compassion will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Rachel never met an animal she didn’t like, especially her dog Gracie who never lacked for anything, particularly the unending love and devotion of her master.
Rachel was preceded in death by her father, Sam Rashall; maternal grandparents Robert E. Lee (Zeline) Sweat, and paternal grandparents Bealis (Celie) Rashall.
Left to cherish her many beautiful memories are her son Ryan Kade Rashall; mother Carolyn Sue Rashall; brother Jason (Heather) Rashall; sisters Kelly Rashall Craig and Tammie Rashall, as well as numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, friends, and her beloved Gracie.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Moss Bluff with Father John Huckabee officiating. Burial will follow in Flatwoods Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 5 – 9 PM with a Rosary at 6 PM and on Thursday from 9 – 10 AM.
